Case Study Commercial Roof Refurbishment Iconic London Office Building.

Abbeymead Building Ltd a, Chartered Building Company, were requested to replace the roof coverings on the North wing of this iconic Building.

The orginal inverted roof had been in place since the original refurbishment in the 1980 and was approaching the end of it s design life.

The building is live and operational, with up to 600 people in the building ,the works had to be carefully co-ordinated to ensure that the high levels of safety were maintained.

It was decided at an early stage to leave the existing roof covering in place and after careful preparation overlay the existing with Sika Decothane inverted roof system which require NO hot works during the installation Process.

The existing Roofs had to be cleared of the existing Paving and insulation system.

The Crescent area at the front of the building was suspend for 2 no Saturday Crane operations  to remove the existing roof materials and deliver the new replacent insulation and paving once the roofing operations were completed.

At the end of the waterproofing works the roof was electronically leak tested prior to the roof insulation and finish paving being laid.

The Sika decothane systems comes with a 15 year guarantee. The works were completed in a five week window allow the occupiers top enjoy the remainder of the summer with their new roof terrace.
